I contend that what the Bible teaches concerning the heavens, earth, sun, moon and stars and what we experience in our daily (and nightly) lives are at odds with what the world of modern science would have us believe.
The Heavens and the Earth
We read in Genesis 1 that a firmament, a firm, stamped out expanse, which is called the “heavens”, was made to separate between the waters under it and the waters above it. Then the waters under this firmament were gathered together and dryness appeared. This dryness is called earth and the gathered waters are called seas. And when we stand on the earth near any shoreline and look up, we see the heavens are above the earth and seas.
And God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so. And God called the expanse Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.
And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:6-10 ESV)
Yet modern science would have us believe that the “earth” is comprised of both land and seas in the shape of a ball, moving about within the heavens, without any substantial physical evidence.
The Sun, Moon and Stars
We also read in Genesis 1 that lights were put in the expanse of the heavens to give light to the earth. They are identified as two “great lights” and the stars.
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. And God made the two great lights–the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night–and the stars. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, (Genesis 1:14-17 ESV)
Psalm 136 identifies the two great lights as being the sun and the moon.
to him who made the great lights, for his steadfast love endures forever; the sun to rule over the day, for his steadfast love endures forever; the moon and stars to rule over the night, for his steadfast love endures forever; (Psalms 136:7-9 ESV)
And when we look up to the heavens, we can see the sun give light to us here on earth in the day, and the moon and stars give light to us in the night. We also see these lights continually moving across the sky, while the earth we are standing on is still.
Yet modern science would have us believe the “earth” is spinning on a tilted axis, revolving around the sun, which is deemed to be our “star”, in the midst of a sea of stars. Along with the earth are several other orbiting heavenly bodies around the sun, referred to as “planets”.
Despite the fact that we don’t feel like we’re moving, modern science claims the earth at the equator is spinning at a rate of 1,000 miles per hour.
And this third rock from the sun is hurling through space at 18.5 miles per second…that’s 1,110 miles per minute or 66,600 miles per hour!
Modern science would also have us believe that man has landed on the moon and walked on its surface.
When did it become okay to ignore common sense (sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch) and embrace unproven dogma?
When did those who claim to hold fast to a Creator and His creation let go of the creation account?
There is a reason why “the church” stood opposed to the “heliocentric model” for so long, and why over the course of human history, the earth was considered to be relatively flat with a combination of high mountains, low valleys and plains in the midst of the seas.
While I don’t profess to have full knowledge and understanding of how the heavens and the earth operate, I do recognize that I have had the wool pulled over my eyes by those who claim to know these things.
To modern science, I say, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.”
I am thankful for eyes to see and ears to hear, for a mind that can think critically and reason, and a spirit given me by the LORD of Spirits (YHVH).
I intend to use them to the best of my ability, and if that puts me at odds with modern science, so be it.
Even with my limited knowledge of “true” history, one can create a timeline that shows there has been a definite agenda to ” hide God”, as Mark Sargent put it. Something seems to have accelerated this about 500 years ago, and it has really sped up with the Carl Sagan, Bill Nye, Tyson, Dawkins generation. And the globe seems to be at the center of the “scientific” deception, whichnis a facet of the great deception…I think.

To loosely quote a fellow who has a site allegedly “with errors”, there seems to be an agenda amongst those that reject scripture and promote evolution, heliocentrism, globism, “higher criticism”, and world wide socialism/fascism.

I observed a jewish calendar for the sabbath and holy days, as we called them, for three decades. I have since drifted away, and have had to rethink how and when to observe the set apart days. Drifted badly.
Anyhow, I have tried to follow the bread crumbs you have left in your blogs, but need a clearer track to run on, so that I can study these things and work it out.
I’d like to see more clearly:
When a year begins (and is that the same as the creation week or the first passover?)
Does the count of the seventh day reset every year?
Counting the week or moedim, are there variables?
If the sabbath varies vis a vis the world’s calendars, how do you and your husband function in that system?
And anything else I forgot to ask.
