Tzitzit: To Wear or Not To Wear Fringes

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. I am the LORD…

The Origin of Jesus Christ in Matthew

Oftentimes people meld the accounts in Matthew 1 and Luke 1 to form the basis for the Virgin Birth Doctrine. However, these accounts are speaking of two different episodes in time. While the book of Matthew appears first in the Bible, the account given in Luke 1, which addresses a time before Mary conceives, precedes the account given in Matthew 1, which speaks of a time after Mary has conceived. The Natural Origin Matthew opens his book addressing the natural origin of the Messiah Yeshua, being the son of Abraham, by way of King David, through his father Joseph. Then, the author gives an account of the visitation of the angel…

The Rebellion of Israel in Egypt

According to Ezekiel 20, Ezekiel received the following word from YHVH regarding the rebellion of Israel while they were still in Egypt: [A]nd say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: On the day when I chose Israel, I swore to the offspring of the house of Jacob, making myself known to them in the land of Egypt; I swore to them, saying, I am the LORD your God. On that day I swore to them that I would bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most glorious of all lands.…

    Shepherds and Herdsmen

Have you ever noticed all the references in the Bible to shepherds and sheep? The Hebrew word most often translated as “shepherd(s)” in the KJV is “ra’ah” (H7462) and means “to pasture, tend, graze, feed” according to Brown Driver Briggs. While it is only translated as “shepherd” or “shepherds” a total of 61 times, the word “ra-ah” appears almost 3 times as often (172). The first mention appears in Genesis 4, addressing the occupation of Abel, the younger brother of Cain, who was a “ra’ah” of sheep: Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten a man with the help of the…

Kings in the Line of Judah

Did you know the genealogy given in Matthew, from David to the exile, is not entirely accurate? For some time now I have known the countings of 14 generations was off somehow, but I was not too clear as to how. However, I just discovered a few days ago that there are three whole generations missing between Joram and Uzziah, which I find very curious. I’d like to share what I’ve found concerning this, giving Scriptural backup (typed in dark red), with the hope that those who read this will do their own homework and study this matter out for themselves. If I am found to be in error, I…

When a Man Knows a Woman

According to Scripture, what happens when a man knows a woman, and what part does the LORD (YHVH) God play in it all? Adam (Genesis 4:1 ESV) Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten a man with the help of the LORD.” (Genesis 4:25 ESV) And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and called his name Seth, for she said, “God has appointed for me another offspring instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.”  Cain (Genesis 4:17 ESV) Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name…

    YHVH’s Relationship to Israel

Some believe that Israel is YHVH’s bride/wife, others believe Israel is being prepared to be Yeshua’s bride; Some believe Israel is both, others believe Israel is neither. In this post I’d like to share what I see the Torah (Genesis-Deuteronomy), in particular, is saying regarding Israel’s relationship to YHVH. Who Is YHVH in Relation to Mankind? YHVH: Maker of Heaven and Earth Gen 2:4-7 (4) These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created (H1254), in the day that the LORD (H3068) God made (H6213) the earth and the heavens. (5) When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the…

    Don’t Call Me A Gentile

Dear Older Brother of the Tribe of Judah, I would appreciate it if you would not refer to me as a gentile.  I am not.  I am as much Israel as you are, perhaps more.  This would depend on your status with the Mashiach.  I know him, do you? It is has never been about the natural seed.  If it was, I believe Scripture would read a little differently.  After all, we have Cain, Ishmael, Esau and on down the line.  All had natural seed and were tares just the same.  It seems that the natural lineage so greatly boasted upon falls to the second born.  Those Patriarchs of faith…
