Who is the God of the Bible?
God is typically painted in a religious light, meaning He is usually defined by those who worship & serve Him. For example, the “God” of Israel, or more specifically, the God “of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob”, is defined for us primarily by the Old Testament or the Tanakh, written by men who worshipped & sought to serve Him. But then, the God “of the Jews” is further defined by the traditions of the elders and rabbinical teachings, in the religion called “Judaism”. Homesteading: Living in the Kingdom of God
For several years the Kingdom of God has been heavy on my mind, and I have struggled with how to present my thoughts on what that entails in the here and now at this website. But the bottom line is I believe the Kingdom of God is the Heaven and the Land. And mankind has been designated to live on the land. Lately, homesteading has primarily been on my mind. After several years of silence on here, I’ve decided to re-enter the blogosphere to share what I’ve come to learn to date. So many times I’ve thought to come back on here to share my studies with you, but I found it to be very daunting. Where do I even begin? WiggleCulture: A Homesteading Ministry
As many of you may already know, we have a homestead in Central Virginia, where we typically host our fall camp-outs each year. Up until this past year, my husband has been mostly going at it alone, working very hard to get the property where it is today. Whereas, I’ve mostly stayed indoors running the household, helping with our business, schooling our children, and squeezing in my Bible studies wherever I can. What is Hell?
A friend recently posted the following verse on Facebook, pointing to the reference to hell: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28 KJV) This got me to ask the question, What is Hell? I typically don’t rely on definitions of the English words translated to understand the meanings of the author, when they wrote in a different language. There is a predominant teaching within Christianity that says we are all born into sin and our flesh is innately sinful. Made in His Image and Likeness
Genesis 5:3 establishes the notion that within humanity, a son bears a likeness to his father. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: (Gen 5:3 KJV) We all understand this with physical features, where a son may physically look like his father bearing the same skin tone, hair and eye color, build and facial features. The Earth and Seas as a Globe Just Doesn’t Add Up
We have been fed from early childhood the notion that the earth (& seas) is a globe, without any real physical evidence. Nobody *discovered* the earth to be spherical. It was just arbitrarily decided and ultimately rammed down our throats. The notion was conceived in the minds of men…Greek philosophers. Later the notion was thrown into the mix of mathematical models and the “heliocentric model” came to light, stating the earth is a spinning ball revolving around the sun. Again, with no real physical evidence to suggest such an idea.
