3-Land and Seas
And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:9-10 ASV)

We Are in the World, But Not Of It
Genesis 1 tells us that in the beginning God made the sky, land & seas. He brought forth regenerative vegetation on the land & put the sun, moon & stars in the sky to light the land. He filled the sky, land & seas with regenerative living beings. And then He brought forth a Son (also known as Man), to inhabit this world. And He anointed that Son with authority, power & dominion to rule in righteousness, and thereby experience perpetual life on the land. God has provided all of us with what we need to physically live in this world made by Him. However, most people in this modern…

I’m Back!
After several years of silence on here, I’ve decided to re-enter the blogosphere to share what I’ve come to learn to date. So many times I’ve thought to come back on here to share my studies with you, but I found it to be very daunting. Where do I even begin? I have so much to say, but the teacher & editor in me wanted to lay it out in an orderly fashion, line upon line, precept upon precept, and then present a polished product for you, as I have tried to do in the past. But I just don’t have the time to do that anymore. Study the Bible…

WiggleCulture: A Homesteading Ministry
As many of you may already know, we have a homestead in Central Virginia, where we typically host our fall camp-outs each year. Up until this past year, my husband has been mostly going at it alone, working very hard to get the property where it is today. Whereas, I’ve mostly stayed indoors running the household, helping with our business, schooling our children, and squeezing in my Bible studies wherever I can. Last year, however, I began to get more involved outside, spending time in our garden and managing our excess produce. And in the doing of those things, in conjunction with the many discussions I’ve had with my husband…

Session 1: In the Beginning – Introduction (DVBD)
Genesis 1 Establishes a Natural Order Generally speaking, all life is made to reproduce after like kind. Given that the Virgin Birth Doctrine deviates from this Natural Order established by the Creator in the beginning, the burden of proof should fall on the proponents of that doctrine to defend their case, not on those who adhere to the Creator’s way. But because this doctrine is so pervasive in our modern western culture, the notion of the Messiah being born by natural means is widely considered to be the deviant position. As a result, those who challenge the Virgin Birth doctrine often find themselves in the weaker position of having to…

The Circle of the Earth
We have been raised to believe that the land where we dwell is mixed with the seas to form the shape of a ball we call Earth, and one of the most popular Biblical passages I’ve seen used to defend this notion is Isaiah 40:22. Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: That bringeth the…

The Earth Is Not My Home
Have you ever seen this image or something similar to it? From what I have been able to gather, the concept is based on a photograph named the Pale Blue Dot (below), supposedly taken “of planet Earth…on February 14, 1990, by the Voyager 1 space probe from a record distance of about 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles, 40.5 AU), as part of the Family Portrait series of images of the Solar System.” (- Wikipedia) Do you see the pale blue dot about half way down the middle of the brown band on the right of this image pictured left? That’s supposed to be us, our home: the Earth. This photo was credited as being taken at the request of…

The Heavens and the Earth – A Find and Replace Exercise
One of the most popular verses in the entire Bible appears right in the beginning: Genesis 1:1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. I think most would agree that this verse lays the groundwork for creation and the notion of a Creator God. It is fundamental for all that comes after it. But so often we read this passage with a preconceived idea in our minds of what this looks like. For example, what picture comes to mind right now when you hear the entire phrase “the heavens and the earth?”

The Beginning of Time As We Know It (Video)
Here’s a look at the first 19 verses of Genesis 1. Many think the beginning of time took place in verse 1, but what about time as we know it? Check this out and let us know what you think. 😉
