Sabbath Day - Shabbath
And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made. (Genesis 2:2-3 ASV)

Time to Rally the Troops
The Enemy is engaged in warfare against the Son of Man. He is hell-bent on destroying the Seed of the Woman — not just the Anointed One (singular man), but the entire body: all of mankind. This war is not just a spiritual war or an attempt to simply destroy the economies of this world or the way our society currently operates, it’s about destroying humans on a personal level — each one of us, and corporately, in our spirit, mind & body. The System is Destined to Fail Honestly, the economy here in America & societal operations-at-large have been destined to fail because they are set up against our…

Tzitzit: To Wear or Not To Wear Fringes
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. I am the LORD…

Free From the Calendar Debate
I’m so glad to be free from the “calendar” debate! Chasing after the sun, moon and stars to determine when to “appear before the LORD” is so last-year for me. No offense is meant to those searching these things out now. Keep searching — don’t settle on doing what everyone else is doing just because everyone else is doing it. Be able to give a sound reason for why you do what you do. I’ve shared some of my notes on my past calendar study for anyone who might be interested in comparing notes with me. From time to time, I go back and make revisions based on newer understanding,…

When a Day Begins and Ends (Video)
Our modern culture teaches a day is a 24-hour period of time that begins at midnight. Jewish tradition teaches a day is a 24-hour period of time that begins at sunset. But what does the Bible say? Watch this presentation covering the Biblical definition of the day, how long it lasts, when it begins and why it matters.

When is the Sabbath Day According to the Bible?
This past week at our fall camp-out I did a presentation on what I understand the Torah to be testifying to concerning when the Sabbath days fall out on the 364-day solar year model put forth in the Book of Enoch. It’s been a few years since I discovered this layout, and I’ve been relatively quiet in discussing this subject publicly because I have not been able to reconcile how that model would play out in a modern setting given what we experience with a 365.24 day solar year. However, more recently I’ve been associating with some folks who esteem the 364-day priestly calendar discussed among the Dead Sea Scrolls, and…

No Work vs. No Servile Work
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath (H7676) of rest (H7677), an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. (Lev 23:3 KJV) Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. For whatsoever soul…

A Sabbath of Solemn Rest
[H]e said to them, “This is what the LORD has commanded: ‘Tomorrow is a day of solemn rest (H7677), a holy Sabbath (H7676) to the LORD; bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over lay aside to be kept till the morning.'” So they laid it aside till the morning, as Moses commanded them, and it did not stink, and there were no worms in it. Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath (H7676) to the LORD; today you will not find it in the field. Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, which…

When Was the Son of Man Raised from the Dead?
Christianity teaches that Jesus died on a Friday and was raised on a Sunday, hence the celebration of “Good Friday” and “Easter Sunday”. Many Messianics, however, believe that he was in the grave for three days and three nights, thereby making it impossible for him to have met that Friday to Sunday scenario. Sadly, I see many Messianics criticizing, even mocking at times, the Christians for their supposed error calling it “fuzzy math”. Admittedly I questioned the math myself when I considered the three days and three nights understanding for a time. But over the course of my Biblical calendar journey I have come to learn that while I don’t agree…

Do Not Kindle A Fire
I’m often amazed at how many doctrines of men are a result of verses in Scripture ripped from their immediate contexts. Sadly, so many are unaware that much of what they believe to be true is not supported in Scripture when rightly divided. This is why we need to test everything, studying to show ourselves approved. There’s a familiar instruction in the Hebraic community to “kindle no fire” on the Sabbath day. The forbiddance of lighting candles and oil lamps, building campfires and heating homes, and cooking or heating food on the Sabbath stem from this particular instruction. However, this instruction is only found one time — in the book of…

When is the Sabbath Day According to Yeshua?
Did Yeshua ever indicate when the Sabbath day was? I used to think not, but then an online acquaintance brought to my attention the following gospel accounts, which I now realize clearly indicates a particular day of a month (“chodesh”) to be a Sabbath day. (NOTE: This is not an argument for a Lunar Sabbath reckoning.) At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry, and they began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, “Look, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.” He said to them,…
