First Things First: Get a Grip & Hold Fast

I believe we, as Bible students, Bible readers, and so-called Bible believers needs to read our Bibles, starting at the beginning of the book.

We need to gain a firm grip on what is established there and then hold fast to it when reading all that comes after it, in order to make proper sense of it all.

One would think this approach would make common sense and need not be said, but evidently it needs be said, because it doesn’t typically happen that way.

But also, more importantly, I believe we need to get a firm grasp on reality before we even open the Book. And then we need to hold fast to that whenever seeking to understand whatever is before us.

Unfortunately, too many of us do it backwards. (I did — for most of my life.)

For example, many are reading passages in the New Testament and flipping here, there & everywhere to support their understanding, and then they are using that understanding as their foundation for understanding Genesis!

Or many are taking what they come to understand from the Bible, in general — apart from what is real in the world and using that as their foundation for understanding the world around them.

It’s upside down!

Upside Down: A Christian Biblical Worldview

I believe we all need a fundamental knowledge & understanding of how the world we inhabit operates, particularly the natural world with its natural order, established long before we ever came into being — before Genesis was ever penned!

And then I think we need to hold fast to that — always.

The biggest problem I see is that we have inherited lies. Those who came before us were deceived about many things, and they passed their deception onto us, while we were being additionally deceived within our own lifetime.

We are and have been immersed in an environment of falsehood our entire life.

As a result, our judgment is skewed. Because the truth regarding reality has been concealed from us. And the natural order has been corrupted, to extreme measures.

As for the Natural World

From an early age we’ve been taught to believe we’re living on a spinning ball, whirling through space around the sun, that the land we are standing on is a planet, and that all the planets in our solar system are solid orbs.

Yet, the reality we observe and experience is:

  1. The land we stand on is stationary, and it’s the sun and stars that are moving overhead (along with the moon), so the earth is not a planet*. (*of Greek origin, meaning wanderer)
  2. The planets are not the globes they are portrayed to be in our science books. Rather, they are wandering stars, and upon closer inspection, they are lights that appear to be kinetic and electrically charged somehow.

As for the Natural Order

The model of the family unit designed by our Creator, which was designed to function in community with other family units in close proximity to one another has been shattered.

In America, most of us were born into an environment where it was normal for families to be divided at the earliest stages of development, with wedges being driven between husbands and their wives, between parents and their children, and between children and their siblings.

And the same division has taken place within our geographical communities.

With the advancements made in transportation and communications, individuals within every household were driven far from home, for large chunks of time practically every day in different & diverse directions.

And now, with the communication channels of our day having greatly expanded, funneling into and out from each individual, with diverse information flowing to and from only-God-knows-where. Noone is on the same page about anything.

And with all the comings & goings, here, there & everywhere, who has the time (or energy) to discuss anything of substance for any length of time with anyone? No wonder our society is such a mess.

I’m afraid most of us are far removed from operating according to the natural order designed by our Creator. And we are a severely confused bunch.

Most people are living in an artificial world created by men, thinking those environments and the operations of those worlds are normal, and thereby that is their idea of reality and the way it’s supposed to be. Yet, nothing can be further from the truth.

On top of all this, instead of religious communities who tout their faith as being Bible-based shining the light of truth on the matter, they have not only embraced this false reality, but they have also contributed to the destruction of the natural order with their false doctrines.

They have debased mankind (and emasculated men in particular) and put fear & false hopes of a divine rescue in the hearts & minds of all, screwing everything up — all in the name of God. I find it disgusting and shameful.

So, what are we to do?

Are we a hopeless generation, destined to be wiped from the face of the earth? Is it just a matter of time before we’re all subject to tyrannical rule by evil men? Can we possibly right the ship we’re on? Do we need to find some other vessel to get us where we want to go? Do we just lay down & die?

I say, we are not without hope.

We have the authority and power to control our destiny. And the land-at-large on which we stand is the domain in which we were designed to live. We just need to change our mind about what reality really is and then act accordingly.

We need to humble ourselves and learn anew, experiencing and laying hold of the natural world with its natural law & order. And don’t let go of that.

Then, we can crack open the Bible, starting in the beginning (of Genesis) and start to take in and understand its content.

First things first.
